Hair graft is also known as hair plug. Hair transplantation is the name of the process applied to transplant hair (hair graft) to the scalp area that is sparse or thin or bald.
Scalp hair growth occurs naturally either singly or in the form of a follicular containing two to four hairs. Among today's hair transplantation techniques, the method of adding follicular units is used instead of hair plugs.
In hair transplantation surgery, the structures holding the hair in the area determined as a donor are relocated and the transplant is performed to the bald scalp area of the person to be transplanted. With this treatment, the permanent hair loss problem of people can be solved.

What Should Be Considered Before Hair Transplantation?

• Before the hair transplantation treatment, the hair should be cleaned before the procedure in order not to damage the hair follicle.
• The patient should wear clothes that he can easily take off after the procedure. Otherwise, the hair follicles may be damaged.
• The hair should be in the length desired by the physician who will perform the hair transplant.
• Since smoking will negatively affect the treatment, it should be suspended. Smoking should be stopped at least 7 days before the start of hair transplantation.
• Food should be eaten before starting the hair transplant treatment. Because the process will take some time.
• Consumption of beverages containing caffeine should be avoided.
• Vitamin B and E intake should be stopped at least one week before the procedure. Vitamins B and E increase blood flow rate.
• Finally, if you have come to the treatment by car, you may need a driver to take you back, as you will not be able to drive for a while after the hair transplant procedure.
If the patient takes the specified precautions before hair transplantation, the specialist can start the procedure immediately. The duration of treatment is approximately 9 hours. What Happens During Hair Transplantation?

In the hair transplantation process, the hair follicles are generally taken from the donor area and collected by the operator without causing any damage to the skin. Roots that contain 2-3 hairs, called hair grafts, are prepared for transplantation.
Hair grafts are placed in the grooves opened on the part of the scalp where hair loss is experienced. The grooves must be of sufficient size and width for the hair follicle to be fully inserted. In order for the grooves opened in the area of hair loss to create an aesthetic and natural appearance and to be efficient, they must be made in a measured and appropriate setting.
The last step of the hair transplantation process is to place the hair follicles taken separately in the grooves opened in appropriate sizes at certain angles. After this process is completed, the treatment is finished.
