If you have had a root canal treatment and your tooth has darkened after the treatment, your dentist can whiten your teeth. The treatment is done by reopening the previous hole in your tooth, placing the whitening gel into this hole, and closing the cavity with a temporary filling.
These procedures may need to be repeated two or three times with an average of one-week intervals. At the treatment's end, the dentist closes the hole with a colored permanent filling suitable for your tooth.
